Trainer Jack Fisher's monster year in steeplechasing got even better Saturday when Scorpiancer improved to 2-for-2 in the United States by demolishing the $100,000 Foxbrook Novice Hurdle for Bruton Street-US and jockey Connor Hankin. The Irish-bred rallied from well back early to win going away by 3 lengths over English-bred Jack Frost and Schoodic. The victory came three weeks after a handicap hurdle win at Shawan for the 6-year-old son of Scorpion. Photographer Tod Marks captured the race in photos, including several of a beaming Hankin, a student at the University of Virginia, and a rising young jump jockey (from the U.S. of all places).
